No, Iran is going the wrong way. Growing countries learn to accept individuality. This Iranian regime has done nothing but try and turn back time rather than ever once looking forward to anything but nuclear technology. That is not developing, it demoting.

Yes it is. It has excellent educational faciliities, a strong miiltary and a very long history.
The government has a clear goal and prioritise government spending to meet it.
It also is exploiting efficiently its own resources and is rather self-sufficient in many areas oif technical competence.
Individuality and civilisation have not much in common, especially when one considers the greatest civilsations yet have had very low priority on the rights of the individual- referring to Egypt, Greece, Persia, Rome, etc.

Though I disagree with elements of Iranian law, I think we all agree it's a very interesting counrty and most likely wioll be a major player in the region- like it or not.
So why not be friends? Isn't easier to persuade a friend than an enemy?

Yeah if you consider moving from the 13th century to the 14th century. Just how do you make friends with someone who wants to kill you because you are an infidel? Are you going to convert to Islam just to be friends with them?
