Remove the sound card from Device manager.
Shut down computer.
Physically remove the card from the machine.
Restart Computer.
Install the drivers.
Shut down computer.
Install the sound card.
Start the computer.

In case you are not able to install the drivers, if you can open the cover of the computer (in case it is a desktop) and your sound card is an external one, pulling out the card, wiping dust off and reinserting it back may help

needs correct drivers, search on the SC's manufacturer website for them, plug and play isnt perfect

This could be something as simple as updating your dlls file. try that
