That's a really good question. If you know that door is really closed and will never open...stay in tune with the open door. And try not to grieve too much. That can be the hardest part...just keep going on.

If you don't see the door that opened, there's always a window.

You have to learn to evaluate how much extra time you want to put into concentrating on a door that's closed, and is probably locked. I think there's a period of "grief" that's reasonable. However, you can't have everything you want, and at some point (and only you can decide where that point is), you have to let go or end up really sad and lonely.

I once put 4 years into being really angry over my divorce. Until one day I realized, I wasn't angry over the divorce or even what a jerk he was. I was angry because I'd wasted so much time, effort and emotion, on something that wasn't right. I was really angry at myself. It took me 4 years to reach that conclusion. That's long time to spend being angry.

However, it taught me that everything has a shelf-life. When it expires, toss it out. It's not worth the bad taste in your mouth or the chance you're poisoning yourself.

No, I take the experience I walked out with and that way I am able to see the many windows that will lead me to the other door!

i think its matters who you are. if your som one that dosen't like change then ya you would look behind all the time. if your some one that is always looking for new posibilities, then you would be searching for that door (or window the easy way is not always the best way.)

Who cares about the one (or 50) already open, if they aren't leading to where I want to go?
