With the show, or the movie? For the show (not considering the movie) Its pretty cool but a little unsatisfying. For the movie, I also feel it was a little unsatisfying but it did give you room to think up what was next for them.

I was kind of sad with the ending of the FMA TV series. The brothers worked so hard together, to help each other and in the end, Al got taken over to the other world and the brothers were seperated. I would have liked to see them together in the end, then seperated.

As for the movie. The movie ending was ok, but I would have liked to have just seen it end how the TV series did, at the same age, but just got their bodies back and not in another demention and such.

I was not happy at all with the ending of the movie. There were too many loose ends. I would have liked the ending to entail something along the lines of Ed and Al both getting their bodies back to normal and trying to build themselves a somewhat regular life. Also, I would have liked to see Mustang and Hawkeye end up together. Who else would put up with Roy? Hopefully the manga will have a better ending. If you weren't satisfied with the anime, I would suggest checking out the manga.

In the series, I thought it did a good job of preparing you for the movie. I wish they would have explained things a little better, though. In the movie, things were still left unfinished. For example, what happened to Winry? Or Roy Mustang? Did Ed and Al figure out how to close the gate? And if so, how? Too many open endings, kinda makes you wonder if they left it open like that on purpose. Perhaps another movie? One can only hope.....
