Do people have to pay other people to fansub anything?

Im woundering if people pay others to fansub there anime.. I really dont understand why they wont fansub mermaid melody. It sucks... Can sombody please help me find someone to fansub this seires for me PRETTY PLEASE!

Usually subbers do it out of the kindness of their hearts and as they usually aren't paid, they REALLY get annoyed when people keep asking them to sub things faster, or to sub things they have no interest in. I'd keep looking around if I were you, I'm sure a sub for what you're looking for is out there somewhere.
