You mean Earnest??...no idea who the Jap is sorry.

What would they do, bore each other to death... if they're not allowed to bash each other with books.

Cool question!

These two would make an interesting match-up: both were "tough guy" writers who committed suicide.

Suffering from depression, Hemingway killed himself by putting a shotgun in his mouth and pulling the trigger with his bare toe.

Mishima committed seppuku (ritual suicide) while occupying a public building as part of a long-planned political and social protest.

Both of them got more than a little nutty and both pushed the macho thing so hard that many people assumed they must be gay.

I would put my money on Mishima winning a fight between them - he maintained physical fitness and practiced martial arts until the end of his life. Plus he was just more of a wild man.

Yes, I am aware of who both authors are.
I think these two gentlemen would sit down over a bottle of whiskey, or sake, and discuss Literature before they would fight. I read more of Yukio Mishima than I did of Hemingway, so he has already won the "fight" to get me as a reader. His pen was his weapon, it's too bad he took his own life with the knife.

What weird question!
I know Hemmingway is dead, never heard of the other author.
What is the point of this question?
