I would say after three months. It will be more fun though after you find out the sex and if the baby is healthy at your ultrasound appointment. I bought little stuff first like bibs and some bottles and socks and stuff. then I bought stroller and car seat at about 8 months.

Its usually 'safe' after the chance of miscarriage has passed at about 12 weeks. However some people are very superstitious. I waited until after 30 weeks, however, i didn't need to buy much, only the big things, as people were so kind and i got lots of presents and my sister gave me a lot of the things she no longer needed. The presents kitted out my son for the 1st 6 months at least. If i was you i would just buy the essentials because you'll be suprised how much people will give you (in the form of presents or handme downs).

I didn't want to rush with my first, but then went ito early labour at 27 weeks but still hadn't bought a thing! So I had my poor mum running around buying everything and I missed out on the experience. So, don't wait too long, but then again I would wait until the 12 week mark is over, just to be safe. Around 20 weeks is a good time, you are passed the dreaded morning sickness (hopefully!), yet not too big and uncomfortable. An ideal time to shop! Good luck with bubs!

Unfortunately there's a high risk for miscarriage during your first trimester, which is the first up to the third month of your pregnancy. Just make sure you're taking care of yourself, getting plenty of sleep, trying to stay stress free, and eating right. I'm 23 weeks pregnant and I still haven't bought stuff for the baby. I'd wait until about 5-6 months, just to be sure.

first of all congratulations!
unfortunately there is a high risk of miscariage in first 12 weeks, so wait at least 3 months. if you dont want to look at the stuff and cry later on.
around 16week you can know if it is a girl or boy, then you can also buy some pinks or blues if you like to.
hopefully everything will go fine and you will enjoy this wonderful time!

I'm 21 weeks and I'm still afraid to buy baby stuff, lol. I'm going to wait til I'm 6 months to start really getting things together for his room. I'm just a superstitious person I guess. I think in the 3rd trimester would be good to start. If you are ready to start buying things now then I would go for it. Good luck :)

If you see something too cute to pass up, get it! Even if for some reason things don't work out, you'll already have it for next time or a perfect gift for someone else. Either way, do what makes you feel good and keep your chin up. Everything has a way of working out for the best. And congratulations!

Most miscarriages happen in the 1st 3 months. They usually occur because of genetic prblems with the baby. You are never totally safe from miscarriage, but after 3 months is usually safe.
