When I'm reading horoscopes and it talks about being a match for partners and love.. I sometimes wonder if it applies to me because my partner is the same sex as me- does it work the same way?

Yes and no.
When someone asks you what sign you are, it's asking what sign the Sun was in when you were born. Each planet and the lumineries were in a specific astrological sign when you were born. Each orb gives you the qualities of that planet in regard to the sign it's in.
For love, look to where Venus is--what sign & what house along with what aspects it makes. You may be an Aries and have Venus in Taurus. You'd need someone to show that they loved you in a very different way than someone with a Venus in Aries.
In order to know where your planets are or have your chart done, there are great websites that are free that will do a basic one for you. You need the exact time of birth, place of birth--city, state, country, and birthdate.
Here are a few: http://www.alabe.com/freechart/, http://www.astro.com/, http://my6s.astrology.com/scripts/runisa.dll?AO.65984:FREEPERSONAL:919555692:GGASTRO&sky=ast_ggl|astro&ovchn=GGL&ovcpn=01%20Astrology&ovcrn=sr2as45go324sb46pi4ai13%20free%20astrological%20charts&ovtac=PPC&SR=sr2as45go324sb46pi4ai13, and many others.

There are an immense amount of combinations of qualities in a chart--even twins can have different rising signs. Everyone is so unique in regard to their chart and energies especially when you factor in their environment, genetics and spiritual evolution. The horoscopes in the paper are very general. If you know your rising sign you should also read that along with your Sun sign.

Yes it does. The science of astrology, including predictions for members of any star sign, supposedly applies to everybody irrespective of gender. So (say) a forecast for a homosexual Aquarius born on January 24th indicates that person could meet somebody and fall in love with somebody who is a Scorpio on a particular date, then if it is true and that person is only attracted to his own sex, the Scorpio "LOVER" is bound to be from the sex he or she is attracted to, not the other one?

Whether astrology does actually predict such things happening to all Aquarius people in the world on that date is quite another matter?

Well I think compatibility is kind of general. Like people who you are compatible with in love are also compatible as friends..so I guess the same sex thing wouldn't matter then, because you are just compatible in general..Do you know what I mean?

I imagine it does. I don't think gender matters to the stars. My sister is same sex oriented and the only thing that stood out in her natal chart is one aspect of Uranus (I can't remember which) that basically pointed to "strange and unusual lovers". Being same sex, in society, would be considered unusual, I guess.. :)

It dosen't matter about horoscopes, race, age (to a certain extent), natioallity when finding the best partner.

Yes it does, in as much that horoscopes are nonsense. The only way that a massive burning ball of hydrogen in space could directly affect your destiny would be if it crashed into you.

This is a great question. and yes the astrology would apply the same. Astrology is based on personality traits in relationship to the planets and how a individual works with those traits in their life.....
