I like this question! I like both cats and dogs very much. I respect the independent nature of cats, and their graceful ways. I am however, a dog person. My dogs are my best friends, and my children. They are comedians and make me laugh many times a day. I enjoy the inner workings of the pack, the way we all move from room to room together, and watch out for each other at all times. We understand each others expressions and gestures, and care for each others needs. Having "the pack" experience has taught me so much about loyalty, forgiveness, and just being happy in the moment. My happiest moments are just enjoying my family of dogs.

I am a cat person. I like them because they are good companions but they are also interested in not being handled all the time. I can lay in bed with a good book and the cat is quite happy to jump up on the bed next to me and curl up and sleep with out constantly needing attention. I just think cats are cooler than dogs. Plus, you can leave a clean litter box, plenty of food, and water and the cat is fine if you go away for a day our two. Dogs have to be boarded and cared for.

I like both, but I'm a dog person. I like the general happiness of a dog. Most dogs seem to have a really upbeat outlook on life, and just want you to be happy with them. Dogs are immensely forgiving. I took in a neglect dog that was terrified and anxious. It took awhile, but she is the happiest dog I've ever had in my life.
Most cats don't really care if you're happy. They're too absorbed in being cats. They aren't usually inclined to give people a 2nd chance once they've been abused or nelgected.

I am a dog person totally. This is because they are graceful and beautiful, but don't care about their looks. They make you feel better when you're sad, and can be really playful. Dogs just like to get down on the floor and play more than cats. But, even though I love dogs, cats are still pretty cool.

I love dogs more than I love cats. I know of a friend who has a cat but she's a fat cat who's just cries for food in the morning. I love dogs because they're more playful than cats.

I have grown up with both in the house but eventually favoured dogs, probably because as a youngster the cats ran away from me and the dogs ran to me, cats just seemed too distant, dogs were more of a companion/friend and so on.
At present I have 2 English Bull Terriers, who are by their nature, unbelievably boisterous, frustrating, infuriating yet totally soft, they are the jokers and comedians of the dog world, one minute you are ready to get rid of them, the next you are in tears of laughter.
Their heritage is of course a fighting breed and care needs to be taken particularly at feeding times, but apart from that my dogs have been in the company of many other dogs, some of whom have certainly tried to start fights but both of my dogs ignore them, they are more interested in sniffing around, bringing me a stick to throw, or some other stupid thing.
Just felt the need to say that as these dogs can sometimes get bad press from people who have never owned them...

I like dogs o.k.
But I admire the way cats could 'take you or leave you'. They have attitude. Independence. Lots more personality than dogs. They are cleaner than dogs and quiet. Cats don't slobber all over you either.

I've owned both, and decided if I got another pet, it will be a dog.
My cats were much harder to protect- keep getting out through screens and cracks, and I just could not take finding their mangled little bodies anymore.
At least a dog will come when you call it, and is more likely to stick close to home.
