i know a lot of men who love that song. but i meet tons and tons of women who hate it. why?

by the way the i have read reports that he is back with the girl he is "talking to" in that song. i say you cant stop love and i hear a love song when i listen to that song. i hear 2 people realizing they have made a mistake and they want to rectify it. maybe its just me.

Maybe the women who hate it are either worried about their bf's ex or are bothered that they might have contact. But I gotta say I love the song even though he is still hooked on his ex. I mean sure he has another girlfriend but sometimes past relationships are left unresolved and that's why the song doesn't bother me. I mean I have been with guys and have still had strong feeling for an ex because of unresolved issues or just a long time together and just wanted to see how they were. I realy don't think it's as big of a deal as most people think. I mean most people have had an ex that was on their mind at times and they just wanted to hear how they were. I know I have before.

I for one think that song is really great! Most women i believe, hear that song and think that all men think about all day long is being with someone else other than them and that is why they dont like it as much as the guys do. But to be honest with you iam a women and i love the song. I think it has awesome lyrics and the band does a really awsome job playing it. Although i do have to say i donot like the country version of that song.

well first off if you've ever been in love you would get the song. he's in love with the girl but he's with someone else when you've been in love you will always love that person you may not want to be with them or something happened so you can't be with them but you will always have feelings for them a lot of women haven't been in love so they don't get it. he's not saying he's going to cheat he's saying that he loves her but he can't be with her. it's like saying even though we can't be together i will always love you and people there are many ways to love some one.i mean how do we know that the women hes singing to isn't dead or something? i mean women jump to, too many ideas with out really listening to the song. and besides can't we just love a song and not take it personally? it's not about us.so get over it and enjoy the song he's singing of an OLD love not he's new girl. he doesn't say he's going to cheat quit assuming he is.

I love that song.
I think a lot of women hate it because it talks about how these people are still hooked on eachother even though they are with new love interests. Also when it says - "my girl's in the next room, sometimes I wish she was you..." - doesn't go over so well with most women.
It is a beautiful song. It shouldn't be taken personally. Unless someone dedicates it to you. LOL!

Lol some chicks just hate the fact its about playing someone. I personally like the song.
some theories on why girls hate the song:
cheating (obvious)
the guys voice
the fact that the lead singer has no problem sleeping around with the groupies(i heard him once on the radio saying if a groupie wants him he's gonna take advantage...as well as his bandmates. they live for hooking up at the end of the night with the groupies.)

I'm a girl and i love that song. I dunno why anyone would'nt like that song. Its about a guy who probly got dumped by his girlfriend and he still has a thing for her even though he's with another girl. And mabey the girl feels sorry for him so she's calling him. I think it's a good song. People shouldn't have to be like " oh the lyrics to this song are bad ! i'm not gonna listen to it! " It should be like woah! this is a good song !
Who cares about the flipping lyrics ! people are too paranoid these days !!!!!!! x(

Well, firstly his voice is so annoying (really tuneless and husky).
And secondly it's a song about cheating!!! What woman wants to hear that?

first, the song isn't about cheating people. the word BUT. think about it, what follows the word but? the opposite of what is in front of it. so "i never wanna say goodbye but girl you make it hard to be faithful..." he doesn't want to say goodbye, but he is going to. he doesn't say he is, he gives the reason. it's just like saying "i don't want to go to work but i'll get fired." i'm gonna be going to work lol. and as a buddy of mine pointed out, he says "hard to be faithful" that doesn't mean he cheats, just that it is hard not to. you can't help who you have feelings for, but you don't always act on your feelings
but (lol), i wouldn't really want to be in that position of being the girl in the next room. yeah, maybe he isn't cheating, but if he isn't honest with her either about talking to the ex, it isn't right. just wait till you hear "thing for you", that one is flat out about cheating

i don't really care for it cause i know what it is like to be with someone who decides he would rather be with someone else. that is one of the reasons i am divorced. my daughter on the other hand loves the song.

i love it & it's one of my favorites for a couple reasons but i agree with the post before me and yea don't take a song personally
