False. Human trafficking is, with very few exceptions, illegal around the world. Although it still exists, and is a multi-billion dollar international criminal enterprise, it does not come close to comparing to the time when the slave trade was a world-wide accepted practice and legitimate business.

To be precise, though, it depends on what time frame of the slave trade you are referring to, the statistical parameters you use, and how you define human trafficking - recent US State Department reports put the current number of trafficked men, women, and children at between 600,000 and 800,000 each year.

Is human trafficking and sexual slavery a myth? If so many humans are being trafficked for sexual slavery, where are they? I haven't seen any yet. Do you visit brothels and escort services that you would know who and where these women came from and under what circumstances they came to the United States or any European country? It's not a myth it's very real and goes on in many Eastern European countries and all throughout Asia Africa and South America and even in the United States. Organized Pedophile groups often book trips to countries like Thailand where sex abuse laws are lax and corruption and poverty allows those with money to get their hands on children for sex.

When people use statistics there is another way to word the statement that will stress the opposite point.

yes it is true. before there were slavery but only a part of the world's total portion now we humans itself is slavery. slavery developes when we fear some one. we obey them not with our heart. this slavery increases due to the greadiness for money. we want more and more money and for that we are ready to be slaves of anyone. human trafficking is something different from slavery.

YES ! Thats the answer to your question. YES we are slaves in independent contry. YES we are slaves and like fools we call ourselves free, enjoying freedom. YES, we can look around us and we will know that we are slaves working for handful masters who control us, our jobs, our health. We are made to stand naked behind a machine, in name of security.
