I have been an avon rep since october 2006
I have on my territory around 100 houses
When i first started doing it, i didnt go to all the houses i was supposed to go to, for fear of somebody seeing me lol BUt now my confidence has grown with it i have 8 regular customers - who order between £15-35 per campaign
Problem is i want more customers. Houses i have been to and they didnt order i never went to again, i dont know if it worth trying those houses again for fear of disturbing people or keep going back and making a nuisance of myself! but i feel i cant keep doing it for 8 people. Maybe 20-25 people yes, but 8 people i just cant! .
So have any avon reps/other reps got any tips how i can boost the number of customers i have and sales??
Thanks to any answers

Ask if you can leave brochures at your local shop. Supermarket noticeboards, Flyers under car windscreen wipers, give some flyers to your friends or existing customers to pass on to their friends and offer them a wee freebie for their efforts if you get more orders. Definately go back to the houses who never ordered the first time, I know that when Kleeneze and other sellers came by us we never ordered until they had been by a few times just to make sure they weren't "at it"! Good luck:o)

Selling Avon Tips

There are no territories in Avon now, put your books where you want, some reps don't like that, but they did away with territories and that is how it is. Carry books with you where ever you go, Ask everyone you see if they want one. wear avon jewlrey where ever you go, it's pretty, people will notice it. mention in casual conversation with others that you sell avon, and they might ask you for a book. pay to have some bumper stickers made that say you sell avon, I myself put an add in a church bulliton in the catholic church around the corner. A couple hundred people will see that every Sunday. It' might help you. you get to claim on your taxes everything you spend on business tools so you'll get it all back at the end of the year. You can claim your phone that use for your business, you can claim what you pay for internet when you put your avon in on line every campaign.

How about having an avon party a bit like a body shop party order some things out of the link and get loads of people to bring friends and friends of friends and so on. Just get some bottles of wine and have a real girly night give your number to all these people and whenever they want an avon book they will ring you. But still go to all these houses. Some of my customers dont order things out of certain books but then if there is a good deal they will order remember some people are skint in certain monthes keep trying and you will get there.

Hi, I know how you feel and it is nice that you don't want to be pushy my question is have they ever said no thank you? A few things to consider
1. People move there maybe someone that never got a book.
2. They may have been busy or forgot and didn't see anything in that campaign. May of times I would plan to call to order something and never get around to it since I was customer already mt Avon lady would check in with me (now my Mary Kay director)
with Mary Kay and my rule of thumb is after 4 books if they do not order I remove them from my mailing list. Avon is a little different so you can choice how many but I don't think one is enough. I have leaned to ask people their interested if they say they are not interested then make a note not to go back once someone says no I don't ask again that would be pushy but until you get no thanks you or please don't leave your book here keep going and good luck.

I am also an Avon rep and find it hard to get regular customers as i live in a 'rough' area. The best thing to do is to speak to 3 new people a day about Avon, give them to family, hand them out to parents at schools if you have a child, give them your children to hand out at school.
Don't feel an idiot for knocking on peoples doors! some people don't know any one who does avon but really likes their products!! you could ba a godsend!
If this is your personal main source of income then give up now because it is unreliable and sometimes you won't earn any commision and it might end up costing you money , for bags, samples etc.
Good luck with your campaigns!!! Im sure you will do better than me!!

The very best place to get tips and tricks for your business is to contact your district manager, attend sales meetings, meet and talk with other reps, etc.
One tip I will offer you is to change your mind set. Instead of feeling you are bothering them, know that you are offering them the gift of personalised service and in home shopping. That is huge. Many people are not home during the day so you might try going in the evening or on the weekend as well. Never leave a brochure without talking to the person. LEave something cheaper like a flyer if you are unable to talk to them.
Hope this helps a little.
:)

i went into estate agents and asked them if they would like to see the book - and they did! also, you could try putting brochures, along with a letter explaining a bit about avon, what they sell, some of the offers in the brochure and how to place an order in people's doors and collect the books every 2 - 3 days.

i used to do bettaware and avon and found that the people who didnt ordert he first time may if you return. dont not got back as it might be something simple like they havent been paid or something. Also broaden your area. i found that if the people knew me they would order so dont not go to houses just cos they know you. and if people arent in leave them a card saying that youve been and will return. i found that working at tea time meant that the majority of people would be at home.
