Why do little kids about 5 or 6 get a cell phone?

I think it's bcoz they just want one and they just cry their throats out for 1 and when they dont even need one. I mean does a 5 or 6 yr old kno even how 2 use a cell phone? They probably have an idea coz they've seen other people use 1 but still there is no use. Now if they just get one coz they want to look cool or whatever then that's just wrong. They should have 1 for emergency when they're about 9 years old. That's when i got my first cell phone. If a 5 or 6 year old NEED a cell phone then they should really get those cell phones where u can only call ur parents those little kiddy ones. That should come in handy.

because they want to fit in and beg their parents to buy them one. It's extremely stupid and I really don't see the point in it (I doubt a 5 year old actually knows how to operate a cell phone). I didn't get a cell phone until I was a junior in high school when I started driving and needed it for emergencies and contacting my parents (i.e. car accident).

Little kids aspire to be adults. To them, having cell phones is a symbol of adulthood.

So, they order their parents to get them one.
And the parents who are slaves to their children willingly obey their master's command.
