No I've not posted my question in the wrong section. My girlfriend has bought me a Bonzai tree after I mentioned that that is a plant I would really like and now I'm terrified that I will kill it!! My Palms are sweating and I'm having Palpatations! Can anyone in the wonderful world of answers give me any advice or good websites so I can learn how to keep Bonzo (oh god I've given him, yes it's a him, a name!) happy. Every two weeks I have to give him special nutrients. What are these and where in London can I get them?
Thanks in advance!

Urban :o)

Congrats!! Many of my plant babies have names. Good start. Mist him daily with water. Water every other day. Give him a mild solution of MiracleGro, 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water, once a month. Keep him neatly groomed, erm, pruned. Depending on the type of plant that he is will determine his light requirements. Many types of trees and shrubs can be made into Bonsai. Research what plant you have. You'll do fine.

Join a local bonsai society (look in the local press or local yellow pages.) You will get lots of tips and meet people. Every plant has different needs but the most important is not to overwater. You obviously want to do your best (like any new parent) but children are easier than bonsai (I speak from experience) and joining a group gets you access to lots of practical advice. Good luck.

Ahhhhhhhhh my son, you must chant, quote inspirational words of wisdom, knowledge and encouragement, at least twice a day. This living thing, this Bonsai Bonzo, his fate is in your hands .To bring death upon him is to reflect your character . Nourish and nurture him, it is your quest, and yours alone, you must go into the world and search for the ancient nutrients which will sustain him ( If you get them in a garden center remember to check the sell by date ). Remember you are his source of life, now go, go !forth and seek his sustanance, my blessings and prayers are with you. ( but mainly with bonzo )

Lol, congrats. You're gonna be a great dad. I'm with Bexs, plants tend to die on me no matter what I do. Good luck raising your new little treasure.
