Mitzelschmertz is a German word for ovulation pain which occurs in the two weeks before the period.

I would recommend that she be evaluated by her dr before trying anything alternative, this is especially important if the pain is making it harder for her to function on a daily basis.

this is essentially the discomfort that comes with ovulation and is caused by the irritation of the outside lining of the organs in the lower abdomen by material that accompanies the egg when it comes out of the ovary.

severity of this discomfort varies from person to person and isn't a symptom of disease.

you should however be thoroughly evaluated by your doctor who will actually decide if what you have complained about is the pain of mittleshmertz or not.He or she can then advise you on what to do.
