Depends when where he said it. But good rule of thumb, if someone feels the need to say "trust me" i'd run for the hills. People you genuinely can trust don't need to advertise the fact. Give more weight to what he does rather than what he says.

It depends on what you are trusting them on. People are always changing, so I wouldn't put all of my trust into anyone. But if you are going to trust them with something small, then don't worry about it. If you are thinking about trusting them with a secret that will end your life, or trust them to pay a bill, don't.

ok...at first i don't get it, does he mean "don't trust anybody friends...exept for him?" or don't trust anybody i mean ALL, you know even your family, relatives, sisters, friends, etc and more even the GOD our creator, you know girl i think he likes, NO i mean if he told that to you it means just trust him the way he like you do for him, i think it's not wrong at all, you should trust him as well but saying those words to feel, it makes me feel something bad would happen.. for my opinion... i would say ask him what he means so that you can rarely understands

Trust is very much like respect, it is earned not just given or to be expected of someone. If he wants your trust then he should prove to you that he can be trusted. This can only come with time and if his actions back his word.

You may be able to trust him, but how could you ever feel he was your friend if he didn't trust you, when you never did anything to loose his trust?

dont listen to him there is no reason for you not to trust other people you have to trust people until they do some thing to lose that trust.. trust your friend unless he has done some thing to make you lose that trust in him

In a way he said the truth. What he probably meant was that ultimately you can only count on yourself to be there for you!

But his utterance was a bit...fishy!
