hi re customer services- my experiences over the last yearacer crap customer services
toshiba slightly better but you cannot speak directly to customer services only after technical support have refered you plus 3 days later
sony- you have to pay premium rate to speak to support after waranty period. will not give you part numbers- great machines let down by the fact that sony are tossers
hp - excellent support- good build quality
dell- much improved

I would go for Acer because they are better value than Toshiba, but they are verry good computers. I work in IT and they are my first two choices. Avoid Dell, HP and Compaq at all costs because most of the laptops that i see with major hardware problems come from those three.
Personally I have an Acer and it is a great computer.

Well, I used a Acer Aspire Desktop, but if you are buying laptop, you could try Toshiba. Acer Support is very straight forward, anything broken, go to the service site and fix it. The Web site rarely support any software or fix. For Toshiba, well, the service support maybe not hard to get.
See what they provide for your choices.

Sometimes it is a choice between features or basic quality for a given amount of money. We have had excellent results from Toshiba.
