Make your dad a scrapbook of your favorite times with him. Place mementos of favorite outings, photos of just the two of you, copies of album covers from your favorite songs, etc. Reminders of why he means so much to you and maybe a cd to go along with the scrap book to explain your feelings. It's personal, one of a kind just like your relationship. Or you could make a dvd out of old home movies.

I have the perfect idea for him....... i will go and get the web site and be right back

www.photo-book-printing.co.uk/cewe

This is a site where you can upload photos and make it into a book. I got some for xmas and they were class quality. I put little funny captions with the photos. You can alter the size of the photos, choose photo layout, choose background colours etc. It takes a while to do, i spent 8 hours doing 1 book but it was well worth it and a keep sake for future generations. Why not do a book with all your family and special photos of you and your dad growing over the years. I bet he would be delighted.
Have a great birthday with him.

The website is not printing properly...the best site that i used is called cewe

Write him a nice letter telling him why you love him, talk about nice memories thru your life with him, and what you have learned from him. This is the best gift a child can give a parent. If you want a gift -gift, also give him a framed pic of you two and find a frame that says I love you, Dad, something like that.

You know what, when it's his Birthday; simply be by his side as long as you can.

Just sit beside him, you could even hold his hand. And just tell him stories of your everyday happenings.

You could just spend the whole time talking to him; and end it with a great hug and thanks.

Thank him for everything he has done for you and for being the greatest father and a person.

Tell him that he is your First Love. Mushy it seems, but it is true, right?

Anyway, just tell him how great he is.

Love your Dad.

There are some really cool Audio Books on tape. All kinds- just check out Barnes and Noble or bookstores near you, or maybe Amazon.com. How about interactive TV games there are some really neat ones out. Another thing is a coupon book for special times with you that he can use when he wants (picnic, walk, game, dinner, etc)

Wow...what ever you get him you are a great daughter!!! I don't know where you are, and that really isn't important, just being there for him is so cool. Find some old buddies, and have them give him a high 5!! Then throw some down and celebrate the fact that they are still around!! Guys are good at making fun of their faults...And really, they aren't faults at all, they just make us human..good luck.

Make him a collage out of family photos, holidays and special times, this will give him happy memories to treasure. Cook him a special meal and have some family over, really make a fuss of him. Good luck

HELLO,IF YOU WOULD TAKE YOUR FATHER TO ALOT OF PLACES THAT ARE WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE.LIKE MUSEUMS,WALK IN THE PARK,ETC.THE BEST THING THAT YOU CAN GIVE HIM IS YOUR TIME SO THAT WHEN HE IS GONE (GOD FORBID) YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO SING THAT WOO-WOO SONG! I SHOULD'VE WOULD'VE,COULD'VE.TRY STAYING AWAY FROM THE GIN REASON BEING IS THAT IT IS A DEPRESSANT AND AFTER THE GIN HAS RAN OUT YOUR FATHER IS STILL DEALING WITH THE FACT OF HIS SITUATION.TRY TAKING HIM TO A SUPPORT GROUP THEY ARE FREE.WHATEVER CAUSED THIS PROBLEM TO OCCUR THEIR IS A SUPPORT GROUP 4 IT NO MATTER WHAT IT IS.

if u want to give him a material thing/gift i suggest a pic frame of the of u.. so he would always be reminded of you.. or any thing that u did that comes from the heart.. you can bake a cake or cook for him.. but the best would be, as others said, your time, love and attention. just being there and listening to him would be great. you know how sensitive they get...

Since he is mentally "with it" but his body doesn't cooperate, why not get him a nice CD player and books on tape. This way he can still be mentally stimulated and stay up on current happenings. He can also enjoy some nice music. I bought books on tape and music for my father when his vision began to deteriorate and he appreciated them. I hope this will be good for you dad, too!
