As a smoker this has got to be one of the most difficult questions I believe asked. I have quit smoking several times through my life ranging in time from a couple of months to a couple of years. I tried everything under the sun to calm myself as I purged the nicotine from my system. Nothing filled the void. Fortunately the cravings disipate generally within a week. Unfortunately the hand to mouth habit does not, I found that the only real alternative was to keep myself busy using my hands and when this was not a viable option....EAT

Well, I just made an offer to my husband that if he stopped smoking, I would have sex with him everyday for a year. He has to think about it. That might be an incentive if you could get your spouse to agree to that!

OH...Do NOT start chewing tobacco. There is nothing that turns a girl off more than a guy with a fat chew in. GROSS! You'll never get laid doing that.

Timberwolf Wintergreen Long Cut. Tastes OK, and you can get a 5 pack roll for like $8.00 as opposed to 20+$ for a 5 pack of skoal. Of course, unlike cigarettes which you can ash anywhere (i.e. in a fish bowl, on a pet, or in grandma's hair), you WILL need some kind of spit receptacle... And make sure it is not the same shape/color as what you are drinking out of. Nothin worse than gettin' a mouthful of warm slimy dip spit when you were expecting bud light

I kicked the habit after 20 years by sucking on Brach's Lemon drops. The flavor satisfies the craving for Nicotine. Good Luck!

I found a plastic drinking straw helped give my hands and mouth something to do rather than smoke. Tried the usual candies, gum etc, but nothing came close to the plastic straw. I could chew it, flick it like a cigarette, clean my teeth with it, twist it, tie it in knots...God I miss smoking!
