I did it over two years ago (and trust me no one ever thought I would)...you have to take yourself completely out of your regular environment and lifestyle for at least 4 weeks. For me it was a sabbatical from work and a trip to visit (non-smoking) family in another country.

Save the last 3-4 of your butts and put them in a little jar with water. Save this jar.
Smoke your last cigarette in the evening, and go to bed with the idea that when you get up in the morning, you are a non-smoker, clean air breather.
If you get tempted for a cigarette, smell that jar you saved.
Hold on for 3 days - all traces of nicotine withdrawal are GONE within 72 hours. The rest is psychological!
Treat yourself kindly to all sorts of nice things: movies, hot baths, pretty smells (potpourris).
Clean out all your ashtrays and declare them CASHTRAYS. Fill them with coins representing all the money you didn't spend on cigarettes.
Empty your cashtrays once a week and treat yourself to something special.

Start smoking cigarettes that are really low in tar and nicotine. You'll wonder why you bother smoking after awhile. Eventually go to the lowest lowest one. You also really have to want to quit. If you drink coffee with your smokes, you might want to give that up as well. Drink tea or something else.

you could use will power or remind yourself how dangerous it is or you could do somethig drastic....
dettox with an eliminating diet: eat olny fruit and veg for 7 days and nothing else.
Diet rules
Do not mix fruit with veg,Do not eat and drink at the same time.drink olny evian water 1hour before and after any meal copiously. Do not eat with any condiments or sauces or oils, salt or black pepper.( you may use a little fresh cayenne ) eat just fruit and veg.Do chew food properly,food must be well masticated before swallowing.
diet example :3 lemons,10 oranges,3 grapfruits for breakfast.
bananas, apples,pears for a mid morning snack.
extra large raw veg salad for lunch .
enormous amount of steamed veg for dinner.
big salad for supper.
need to eat large amounts every time.olny eat tomatoes on there own as a meal.all fruits must be ripe.
when you have finished this diet if you can manage it ,you will be amazed at your ability to resist cigerettes,you simply wont fancy them.do not worry about stopping at the start of the diet,as by day 3 you will begin to cut down without realizing it ,by day 7 you wont fancy them.when you have finished the diet eat normal amouts of simple healthy foods .stick to the diet rules always, except for the rule of no sauses ....,oh by the way you will need to take the lemon by juice 1 hour before eating breakfast.also do not mix more than 3 fruits at any time and stick to fruit groups (citrus,berries....).this diet works for drug abuse with the same results 100% guranteed.
lastly I must tell you that this diet is difficult,you will loose a lot of weight but this will be the toxins with unhealthy tissue.the health benefits are enormous as you will see by the way you feel once the diet is finished.do not do the diet for more than 7 days and if you wont to repeat the diet wait a few months, the results of the diet can lasts for years so do not repeat the diet in hopes to loose weight.good luck
