graphic solution?

im a student in graphic dsign and im really needing to buy a computer/laptop...
which wud b better laptop? desktop? any opinion?

Desktop; Laptops' are no use for Maya or 3ds Max.
and don't buy a real expensive one: you'll have to upgrade it very often. (another pro for the desktop solution)

My opinion...

Laptop with lots of memory.
Wireless Internet
Loaded with Adobe CS 2
