He did cheat and now has a child with the other girl who will put get him into alot of trouble with the police if he does not declare the child. i know in my hart its' wrong but i also feel for him as we have been married for 19 years and with children of our own. What and how can i make my heart go around this one.

Well if you love him, and you know that he wants to stay, then you should support him, and do what you can to keep him out of trouble. It sounds to me like you have a long history together, and i think if he regrets his actions and truley loves you, then you should make this easier on him, and help him out. Let him know that you forgive him, but you wont forget it, let him know that you still love him, but your not condoning what happened. If he claimes the child, it doesnt necessaraly mean that he has to be there, he can give up his parental rights, and just pay child support, but that is something you need to discuss together. Plus if this women is low enough to get with a married man, then i guarentee you that isnt her forst one, get a paternity test to see if it is even his.

Trouble with the police... how likely is that?
Lots of women think they can jst claim to be assaulted. They don't realise there might be a little more evidence required than their word.
Don't give in to blackmail.

consult witrh a lawyer as there may be legal and financial ramifications in the future... this issue is beyond most unless folks have gone through similar...of course, go without him and before u settle on any one lawyer, see 2 or 3 for their first hour of consultation and feel to whom with u are comfortable...

I really sympathise with your situation. At the end of the day though, he has brought another child into the world and needs to take responsibility for that.
