i've a WIN XP CD which came with my PC when i bought the PC, and now i want to know if i can install win xp by the same CD on my notebook?

yes but you can never install windows updates.

Technically you're not supposed to, but you can install it on 100 computers if you wanted to. (dont, though!) The only thing is the license wont be valid on the additional computers, which all that means is when (or if) you ever need to call Microsoft Tech Support(HA!) they will not give support for an unlicensed, or non-genuine product, and I think you may not get free updates online either. I'm not sure about the updates though. But believe me, you dont want to call Microsoft for support, they charge like 35 bucks a call, the greedy pricks!! And they probably dont tell you any more than you can find out on the internet.

Yes, but you would be transfering the license.

If you will be using both, you need a license of XP for each one.

If you want to try something fun (for free), download and install Ubuntu linux with Beryl desktop.
