try different nipples on the bottles
your baby might not like the one on the bottle you are trying to feed her with

I just finished weaning my 3 month old off of breastfeeding. It took me a total of about 1 month from start to finish. I started by leaving my baby with my parents for the weekend. They started her on the bottle. (The key to starting a breast feeding baby on a bottle is for you to not and try to give it to her/him. Have someone else introduce it. i.e. husband, grandparent etc. Just know that the baby will not be happy. But she'll eat when she's hungry enough!) I then gave her a bottle once a day for a few days while continuing to breastfeed. Then every few days I would add another bottle to the feeding schedule. Finally, she just stopped breast feeding altogether. It was all very stress-free and painless!

If you have to work, work the bottles in in the morning and keep breast feeding at night and slowly work in the evening bottle. It will be the last to go.

I would not recommend cold turkey. It would be extremely painful for you and the baby.

Good Luck!

Try having someone else feed the baby a bottle babies arn't stupid they know what they want and from you it's the breast, if you have someone else feed him you don't give that option. Also tihnk of alternate care idea for the baby maybe a center thats closer to work or on site for you so you cna nurse him still.

I breast fed until 4 months and then I went cold turkey...as I lost so much weight..2-3 kgs below my prebirth weight...I was weighing only 42-43kg..

On a long weekend I got hubby to look after the baby for the day...and he fed her/him... I had to stay away as I couldnt stand the crying...every time the baby cried my milk ran...lol..so I was busy expressing to be comfortable.

our oldest daughter didnt take the bottle straight away...she took it finally at 7pm that night..

our son went straight over with no hassles..took the first bottle that was offered..

our youngest didnt take it for 3 days...she only took like 20-30mls each feed to keep her going and finally succumbed after 3 days...lol..that was because of me...instead of 4 months I changed her over at 5 months...as she was a 5 weeks prem...my mistake...

the older they are the harder it is to swap them over...there is no easy way...I found cold turkey was the best way after trialling the other way...of slowly introducing the bottle..lol..
just bite your tongue and do it..
