What would you determine as being successful? To answer a question like that I would have to determine what success is. Is it the person with the best career? The person with the most money? The person who owns the biggest house? One can be successful in one area and leave totally defeated in another. I have a large family. The individuals in my family all share victories and defeats. I believe the most successful people in my family are those who have learned or are on the path of learning how to love and respect themselves, love and respect others, and reverence God. Unfortunately there are not many people in my family like that. But my mother is and I respect and admire her. I do not envy her and on occasions I seek counsel from her. But I do not solely rely on what she says. I believe the same God that can speak to her and give her wisdom can also give wisdom to me. So though I listen to other people opinions for the sake of gathering, I chose God as my counselor.

I believe my whole family to be successful, my mum, dad sisters and brother are the kindest most loving caring people i know. They are always to be seen helping others. Financially my brother is most successful, he is a self made millionaire, but this makes no difference to any of us we love him to death, because he's our brother and he's kind, loving and funny. He makes sure my parents have everything they need, and ferries my mother around like shes the queen lol . Everyone who knows him thinks he's a great guy ( which he is). Apart from myself, my brother, sisters mum and dad all see each other every day as they all live within 5 Min's of each other. I live a little further away but see them all every week. I could never envy or begrudge them anything. I have admiration for all of them. I can seek council from each of them and they always give good sound, practical advice. My mother is my rock, she never judges me when in the past i haven't taken her advice and it has turned out to be a " mistake " or i have failed. She has taught us all to get back up fighting and move on from it. My dad is my hero, and is also the inspiration behind my brothers success in business.

As a family, we have never measured success by wealth. Various members of our family do have large disposable incomes but this is never a cause for envy. Our family units measure success in humanity, empathy and assisting others when needed, especially non family members. Any of us can talk to each other for advice or suggestions but then it is up to the individual to make there own decision with the full support of the others. Make sure you are successful in life as well, be a good human being.

The most successful person in my family is my great uncle. He came from Ghana to England with nothing in the 60's. Now he is judge. I don't see him that often, but I admire him. He put himself though education to better himself, and never asked for hand outs, and worked hard for everything that he has. This is something that I admire and aspire for in my own life. I don't envy him I am proud of him.

Well, the most successful person in my family by the world's standards is never home so I do not envy him. The most successful in my eyes would be my Dad, since he wasn't afraid to leave what was comfortable and safe to pursue his dream (farming full time) even though it was not the most economically logical idea, and what's better, he made it work well. I ask him for advice all the time and hope that I'll be able to do the same someday.

I am. And I'm the youngest in my family. Others only seek me out when they want money. Which I don't fall for. They don't want my financial advice, then they don't get sympathy from me. Sorry, but I'm not here just to give people money. I'm a person too and if they can't see that then they have to deal with their issues themselves.
