If you are born to a white person and a black person you are mixed---not one or the other--right? SOmeone on here says your black---I don't agree. And I thought Obama was african american---someone here says he isn't.

If someone is mixed they are both, or all of the races they are mixed with. My daughter's father is white, she doesn't look black at all, she is tan though, but she has his hair, its curly, not tight coils, just soft spirials, she has my brown eyes though, but she looks mexican...
Mixed blacks cannot be catagorized with full blacks because they aren't black, we carry the genes of all of the races we are mixed with, not just the black genes. Its more of a biological issue than a social one.

Of course ur not only black, ur mixed race. How hard is that o figure out!! But the fathers race does take precedence over the mothers.

Some things just can't be cleared up. I've heard Sen. Obama refer to himself as African American many times. I think he would know!

it really boils down to how he ideantifies himself. But you do have a point, there is something to be said about acknowledging both sides of one's heritage/gene line
