The trick is not to make people believe that they want to buy, but to make them believe that they need to buy whatever it is. Convince them that their life would be complete if they owned said dooberry. You should spend some time in the markets in East London on a Sunday morning. The streets are fuul of people who could sell snow to eskimos.

nobody will buy a product which they don't like, BUT there's still a chance for you to sell the product IF you manage to make them like it.

Simple... Make it something that everyone wants. Look at the pet rock, nobody really wanted to have one, but there was so much hype that everyone 'had' to have one. Create such a hype and buzz that gets everyone talking and ride the wave. You'd be amazed at what you can get people to purchase! VERY VERY simple.
