Today, I got the big envelope from USC saying I got accepted. Since USC already sent a letter saying they won't give me the scholarships I applied for, I won't be going because family can't afford it. My friend said SC will give a lot of money but even if they pay me half the tuition, it's still a lot. So...

I'm still waiting for UCB, UCLA, UCSD to tell me results at end of march. I already got in 5 UCs. (People ask me why i applied to schools i won't even go... well, i dunno where my potentials can take me... safety nets?). Happy to see my potentials met the USC standard. Although, I got rejected by Stanford early decision.

So do you think i can get into UCLA, UCB, and UCSD? I found out I made a typo in my personal statement. I must have accidentally pressed back space when copy and paste the personal statement... because "thirty" turned into "thity". I hope that they won't see it as a flaw and automatically eliminate me.

Back in my day (over a decade ago) all you needed was a pulse and a checkbook to get into USC. Today they are more evenly matched with the other schools on your list. If you got into other UCs, you should get into UCSD. Cal is the toughest to get into. You still have a great chance at all three of your other schools. Whatever you do, don't give up hope and go to SC! Contrary to what the other answer says, UCLA is the most applied to school in the nation. Therefore UCSD does NOT get more applicants.

As for your typo, hopefully the admissions office still runs things the same way they did back when I went to ucla. They almost never looked at those except to make fun of them. On rare occassions they would look at them if the person's scores and grades were borderline. I had friends who worked in the admissions office. With as many applicants as they have, there's a good chance they don't look at it too closely.

Good luck with your college applications!

I was accepted at UCLA and USC. USC was 10x more expensive than UCLA. Even with a partial scholarship, there was no way I was going to spend that kind of dough. I went to UCLA with no regrets. I was an Engineering major, and it turned out UCLA was far superior academically to USC anyway.

It depends on your major whether you got in. If you're already in at 5 UC's, then you've got a good chance at the others. UCB is the toughest. UCSD isn't as tough, but I think they get the most applicants, so, accordingly, they also have a high rejection rate.

Good luck. It sounds like you've got several options regardless of what happens.
