My computer has been acting really off cant open any programs cant install any programs....... Its a dell, Ive had it for three years now and in those three years I've system restored my computer many times. Could restoring my computer so many times take some memory or lose very important files? The first two was ok but now its just not doing what i want it to do. WHAT DO I DO ????????

When you say you system restored, do you mean you went back to a previous restore point, or did you do a complete restore either from a disk or restore partition taking you back to the factory settings?? Doing a regular system restore doesnt always help, so I wouldnt rely on that. Check under My Computer and see if you have a restore partition. It will sometimes be called Backup, and its normally labeled as D drive. Or if you have a backup cd, you can use that to restore your computer to its factory settings. It will be just like it was when you first got it, that is considering the hard drive is not going bad, and the cause of your problems. Just make sure you back up anything that you want to keep before doing so. Do you have a windows disk? If so, try to reinstall windows, that might help. Oh, to answer your question...restoring your computer many times shouldnt hurt as far as I know. However, if you have a virus, which sounds like it is very possibly the problem, restoring doesnt always work. Have you tried all the basics first like Defrag, Regedit etc. to make sure its just not something simple. Of course, I doubt that is causing those problems with your programs. I'd almost bet money its a virus, cause thats what it sounds like. If you need any assistance at all, just email me. I like to help, and I have nothing better to do. Good luck!!

Reinstall your Windows then install a Anti Virus Program demo. That's what I did and it worked(FINALLY)
