I have exams this year in May/June and I cannot afford to have my period on these two months as I fall so ill (the usual vomiting, cramps etc). What can I do? Is starting on the pill the solution? Please help!

Yes taking the pill continuously (meaning just the hormone pills and not taking the placebo pills) is a way to stop your period for the time of your exams but I would recommend talking to your dr before doing anything to see what they suggest.

Cramps are a symptom of low progesterone the last half of your cycle. You can try a progesterone cream on days 15-26 of your cycle, with day 1 being your period. Pro-Gest is a brand you may be able to find locally.

When taking progesterone cream start out low and increase base on your symptoms.
Example:
1/4 tsp days 15-26
if you still have symptoms of low progesterone
add a second dose of 1/4 tsp.
Keep increasing by each dose by 1/4 until you feel better.
The goal is to take as little as possible, because if you take too much progesterone will convert over to estrogen.
The best book on hormores is by Steven Hotze.

birth control pills can help regulate a period, mine is the same time every month and less heavy but it doesn't happen to everyone, u can skip the 7 day sugar pill and possibly not get it but is very bad to do because a period is getting rid of tissue, bacteria and things that shouldn't stay in your body and the next cycle can be worse- for the symptoms, try midol, excersise (go for walks if u dont work out helps cramps and energizes u), eating right (protein and iron is good), get enough sleep and drink water
