as far as i am aware, he would need to get another certificate from his doctore stating he is fit to return to work, other wise they will not allow him back( as they are not covered with insurance)

If your son has a shoulder injury he should not return to work before the ten days of sign off is up. Reason I say this is in case your son wishes to lodge a claim against anyone who may have been party to the cause of his shoulder injury. His insurance at work may very well be affected if he returns early. Go back and see the GP and get his free advice.

Yes BUT he must see the GP for a return to work note.
I was signed off for 14 days and wanted to go back after 9 days, my manager told me to get a return to work note.
If I had not got the note, I would not be covered by the company insurance.
Hope this helps.

His insurance may be say if he hurt himself whilst still signed off. If his work have an occupational health department he could go and speak to them to see if he can come back or failing that he may have to go back to the GP to get signed back to work

To keep this legit,it would be better to get a signing off cert.so that your employer is not liable should something happen the penalties these days are very stiff should an employer be found wanting.

you do need to be signed back to work by a doctor,
If you don,t then if something happens at work you are not covered by work insurance. A Dr needs to satisfy himself you are fit enough, he is the expert,, I had the same issue.

I believe you can. The period the GP signs you off for is just a guideline for the number of days, weeks or months required for your recovery.

you should phone the doctor and ask for a return to work note, you need that because benefit and national insurance will be paid other wise. you can get it backdated so don' t worry if he has already started back.
