I'm having difficult concentrating in class and studying the material. I'm taking Anthropology in college and I want to major in Archaeology so I kind of need Anthropology but my teacher is so boring and when she teaches the material it's boring. I have a hard time paying attention in that class and studying the material. I need help. I love archaeology and I read up on it but this class is a killer. I can't afford a bad grade and there's about a month and a half of school left. I need some help with studying stradegies please.

When you have a class that's difficult to concentrate in, I find that its best to listen as well as you can and take notes the entire time. Writing things down really makes them stick in your memory. Additionally, making an outline, or copying down the more important facts of the pertinant section of your textbook is another really good way to get more familiar with the material and keep it memorized for awhile. If you can go through your text before class so you're somewhat familiar with what your professor will be discussing beforehand, it might be easier to pay attention and also to stay aware of the point of the lecture if you do catch yourself zoning out.
Does your school have a tutoring program? maybe you can find a fellow student who is more adept at explaining the course than your teacher. the most important thing is to keep focused and don't let yourself get behind in your work. Even if its awful and boring now it will be worth it in just a month and a half.

Suggest that you study the material a day ahead of class so you can at least feel comfortable that you know it incase if you have a problem in concentrating n class. Teachers cant be such a bore.

You can also put a small message in on her table (anonymously) and tell her politely that she needs to be more energetic in teaching cause she is boring everyone to death.

Good luck!

Cinnamon - the new brain & health food?

Actually, brain benefits are just the tip of the iceberg with this wonderful-tasting super spice.

But let's start there: did you know that a recent research study presented at the annual meeting of the Association for Chemoreception Services in Sarasota, FL, found that
..........................................................
merely smelling cinnamon or chewing cinnamon-flavored gum actually enhanced multiple areas of brain processing and function; everything from memory to visual-motor speed to recognition to attention & focus?
...........................................................

In fact, the results were so promising that multiple research studies underway are testing cinnamon for its potential effects on enhancing cognition in the elderly, people with "test anxiety", and possible benefits for people with cognitive diseases.

Pretty impressive, and that's just from the smell.

But cinnamon also has a rather mind-blowing number of other health and anti aging, anti-disease benefits as well that most people still don't know about: how about stopping disease-resistant yeast infections? Or regulating sugar levels in people with Type2 Diabetes? Or reducing the proliferation of leukemia and lymphoma cancer cells? Or the a mere 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon daily can lower your LDL (bad) cholesterol?
