Devout sadness. I it is a soiled US citizen, sadness for their ignorance of the privilege the have by being one. If it is a non-US citizen I'd ask them out of ear shot of other if they would like to live in the US. What ever their answer it would shed light on the flag they just burned. If they wished they could have the life style the US citizen enjoys the flag burning in part is do to frustration of that not being an option. If they preferred not to live in the US, their reason would also shed light.

Sadness is the main feeling, because most that do burn the flag haven't thought what they are saying before they do it.

I have a true hate...I don't know how to solve this. This great nation of ours ( it appears the executive and judicial system are on the blink). Our great flag was extremely important to all Americans at one point before. NOW.....even the rules to fly it properly are forgotten. Check it out...look around. Its in rags, burning, disrespected in other GREAT NATIONS. If anyone in OUR GREAT NATION tried to stop someone from actually harming our flag...you would probably go to jail.

I start to think of those who gave life and limbs for the pride that goes with the flag. And how we honor our soldiers who die by draping a flag over their coffins which is passed on to loved ones. The blood, the tears we share in war to erect a flag of our conquers on foriegn soil in honor of our Country and people. These few memorials comes fast to mind.

And even after war when the survivors come together how the tears and memories never leave you. Take it from one probably much older then you it frikin pisses war survivors off immensely.

After 9-11 , Mexicans and Palestinians were dancing in the streets. We still kiss their butts and let them live here and send money and stuff. It seems the only poeple who arent welcome here is a blue collar American worker. We are always sending their jobs to some third world toilet that hates us or some commie country that we used to be at war with because communism was so bad that it had to be stopped at the cost of thousands of our kids lives. Who the hell is really running things around here anyway. NOT THE VOTERS!!!!

To be truthfull I haven't seen anyone burning the flag!

My main objection is to politicians who wrap themselves in it and claim that whoever disagrees with them is unpatriotic.
I'm retired Army, spent more than my share of time in Vietnam and Korea, Americas freedom was never at stake in either place any more than it is in Iraq.

Anyone who thinks they are defending my freedom by going to Iraq is sadly mistaken. They are Professional Soldiers, since none were drafted, enforcing Americas will throughout the world.

Sometimes the disappointment in a govt that is starting to run US instead of honoring it's citizens concerns. Pres Kennedy said a govt that keeps secrets is bad for the people.

The cloth has reached the temperature at which combustion takes place.

I love the flag, but what matters is the country, not its symbols.

I wonder if it crosses the mind of even one of them, that they have the right of free speech and are able to burn the American flag on their own USA soil, and burn an effigy of an American soldier..BECAUSE!!! OF THOSE American soldiers, WHO DIED!!! FOR THEM!!! JUST SO THEY COULD HAVE THE FREEDOM TO MOCK THEIR DEATHS AND SPIT ON THEIR GRAVES!!!
These gutless punks know they could never have that freedom in another country and live to tell about it!

I am not an American and not a fan of American policy, but it saddens me to see any form of disgrace shown to your fellow man and there are somethings deserve respect. As for the home grown nuts, some of us are lucky to be born into nations that tolerate that form of abuse to national emblems of pride.
