40 weeks - it's measured by adding 281 days to the FIRST day of the last period before the pregnancy.

This is just average though, only about 5% of babies are actually born exactly 280 days since their mother's last period. Most babies are born between 37 weeks and 42 weeks - anywhere from day 260 to day 295.

A pregnancy lasts 38 weeks from conception, but delivery 2 weeks before or after that is considered normal - a due date is just an estimate.

However, most doctors, and books and websites, date pregnancy from the last menstrual period, and thus they date pregnancy at 40 weeks. This is because it can be hard to pinpoint conception. So if you are seven weeks pregnant, it is actually five weeks since conception.

Thirty-eight weeks is a little less than nine months, since most months are more than four weeks.

They calculate it from the first day of your last period..
40 weeks normally, but can go two weeks either way..
My children were all over due (born at 41 weeks), and by my 40th week I felt like I'd been pregnant for 2 years..

The average pregnancy lasts forty weeks. It is calculated from the first day of your last period. Most women go into labor sometime between thirty-eight weeks and forty-two weeks. That's considered to be the norm.
