I heard it on the radio. I'm pretty sure it was a popular song, possibly from the 90s or 00s.

Female country artist, pop friendly song. It said something about playing a song "from 1903" (190?) and it making you feel younger. It also had the phrase "rock and roll."

It might have mentioned dancing.

Not much to go on, but I'm pretty sure it was a popular song, but another song came on and pushed it out of my head. Curse you The Shirelles.

Sounds like "Down at the Twist and Shout" by Mary Chapin Carpenter.

The song sounds alot like one from Mary Chapin-Carpenter, it is called Down at the Twist & Shout, it does however have more of a cajun sound to it than the song & artist you are trying to find. It does mention the things you described in your question , good luck with your search. I believe it was released in the mid 90`s as well.

Something about this seems so familiar but my mind is blank. I tried searching for a couple phrases for lyrics but came up emptyhanded, sorry! Think hard, can you remember for CERTAIN one line of exact lyrics?

[just posted this but I'm editing it now that I see the other answers - that's the song that I was kinda thinking of but couldn't quite remember it, so disreguard this LOL]
