The high cost of drugs are a direct result of trusting our representative of our government over the last 5 years.
Our electectoed civil servants got together and implemented laws that would give money to pharmaceutical companies as well as the representatives and their families benefited with high paying positions in the pharmaceutical companies.
In 2003 under a cloud of corruption, Congress enacted a new Medicare law to provide prescription drug coverage—but it was a giant giveaway to the insurance and drug companies. The companies hired 952 lobbyists, spent $141 million on lobbying and contributed more than $30 million to campaigns. Drug profits rose $182 billion. Millions of seniors confused or hurt by the new law.
Republican Medicare Prescription Drug Bill Tainted by Culture of Corruption: Fails Seniors While Helping Drug Companies and Private Insurers
The Republican Medicare prescription drug plan was the product of a corrupt legislative process and predictably, the first three weeks of its implementation has been a disaster. Hundreds of thousands of America’s seniors have had difficulty obtaining their prescription drugs. This Republican plan, written to meet the needs of drug companies and private insurers, is failing America’s seniors. Twenty-six states have intervened to ensure that their low-income beneficiaries can obtain prescription drugs – with many declaring “public health emergencies.” House Democrats are pushing for quick enactment of legislation that will ensure seniors immediate access to medicine, and provide federal reimbursement for pharmacies and states for the costs they have incurred as a result of the failures of the flawed Republican Medicare prescription drug bill.
This week, Leader Pelosi, Whip Steny Hoyer, and Congressman Henry Waxman, senior Democrat on the Government Reform Committee, sent a letter to Speaker Hastert asking for a congressional investigation into the role of the Alexander Strategy Group, a lobbying firm closely linked to Jack Abramoff and former Republican Majority Leader Tom DeLay, and whose largest single client was the pharmaceutical industry, in the passage of this deeply flawed special-interest legislation, which gives $139 billion in windfall profits to drug companies and leaves seniors and people with disabilities behind.
These are articles regarding the corrupt government manipulating law to profit from the elderly and disabled.

I am always against any time that the Government is asked to regulate any thing, because that is just one more thing that they have taken my rights away on. If you don't like the drug prices, you should get some of those books that teach you about the herbs that you can drink, take, rub into your skin, etc that work just as well as the drugs that they prescribe, and they have NO side affects, I have recently bought several books that were written by a group of doctors that tells you how to treat almost every kind of issue that would normally cause you to take a pill, and these books are fabulous! You can drink a tea, rub in a home made ointment, that works better than those pills. Face it this is the stuff that they used before they developed all of these chemicals, with all of the side affects. Look into it and I am sure that you will be pleased. I have very serious medical issues, and my medicine was costing me $230.00 a month and that is with a 10-20 dollar co-pay. So that gives you an idea about how many drugs that I had to take. I was in a serious car accident and My kidneys shut down, my back was destroyed, my thyroid was destroyed, and much more. If I can do this any one can.

Make it illegal to make a profit?
George Washington was the country's first millionaire. Instead of a salary he was paid expenses and a little extra. When he became President he tried for the same salary deal. He had made so much money the Congress's refused.
Robber Barons screwed the USA for so much $$ during the building of the trans-continental railroad it's impossible to imagine that happening today (Haliburton)
Today the price of oil is going up almost every day. The oil companies say its because of supply issues, etc, yet they make record breaking profits each quarter.
We cant do anything about it for the same reasons we cant control drug companies: they have a right to profit, we cant regulate the profit, and they add too much money to the political coffers.

You hit the substantial subjects nail on the top. by employing regulation, governement-run wellbeing care classes, inclusive of Medicare, can not negotiate with the drug agencies for decrease costs. the consequence is that a lot of human beings, somewhat decrease earnings ones, can not locate the money for his or her prescriptions, or they take 0.5 doses. advertising of prescribed drugs ought to be banned. It forces docs to coach drugs by employing prescription using fact sufferers are available and tell the wellbeing care expert what drugs they choose. The wellbeing care expert writes the script to get the affected person to pass away using fact he gets so little in fee from the coverage companies that he can not locate the money for to communicate the techniques to the afvertised drugs the affected person needs. In my city we've 2 substantial hospitals. They each and each have their own MRI machines, and those machines are high priced! We even have various autonomous MRI centers. yet once you're in a hospuital and choose on an MRI, the wellbeing care expert will purely permit you get it interior the wellbeing center -- which costs a minimum of five situations as much because it costs in an autonomous MRI medical institution. the government money a number of of the R&D od huge pharmas. yet whilst the analyze ends up in a clean and conventional drug, the drug organisation gets the patent(s) and each and all the sales. So in case you employ that drug, you pay two times: First, you pay taxes to assist the R&D; 2d, you pay once you purchase the drug. the government ought to get a expert rata share of the income from one in each and every of these drug, which ought to pass directly to subsidize government-run wellbeing care classes. Tort reform could make a huge distinction. Malpractice awards are a small portion of the undertaking. the huge and expensive concern is shielding drugs, which reasons docs to reserve each and every a possibility attempt to stay away from the prospect that they're going to get sued. we've the only right wellbeing care in theworld, yet we've not got the only right wellbeing care gadget interior the international. we are employing many docs out of the occupation using fact money to companies are too low. we've an acute scarcity of nurses. How are we going to function 40 six million human beings to the wellbeing care rolls devoid of extra docs and nurses?
