She was born and raised in the US, but now she has this British accent. I went to college near Canada and I never picked up a Canadian accent, maybe once in a while i will say snow with a long o. One of my mom's friend is an Aussie and lived in the states for over 30 years and she still has her Aussie accent. What I have heard of Madonna's accent is kind of mixed up, like it is a bad British accent (I am a yankee and I admit that I couldn't do a british accent ever). What do people think of her accent and if you are British is it a good accent or not? to me it sounds like she is all over the place with it.

i think since she is continuing with this dance/techno style music, europeans take better to that style music than we do. so she wants to appeal to that audience so they will keep supporting her.

she is faking tho.
its different to go from one type of american accent to another but to switch to british, that would take far more than a few years to change ur whole way of speaking. ESPECIALLY WELL INTO ADULTHOOD.

Sometime people pick up accents when they hear it long enough. I've been listening to BBC daily and I was told I have an accent. People try to guess where I;m from, Chicago, Philly, and of course England. I don;t hear it in myself and I think it might be because Its mixed in with American and other accents. I would think if I am developing an accent it must be slight.

THat our she is suffereing from the samething as Hillary Clinton.

Well, she does live with Guy Ritchie and all. I've got a decent British Accent, but it's mainly from Monty Python and Pet Shop Boys interviews.

It is normal for people with the past of the time become more and more part of the places they live. I wasn't born in NYC but I often find myself behaving and acting like a new yorker even thou I wasn't born there. New yorkers are known by their bad mood and rudeness, those were the first thing that hit me when I got here, and I remember very well had thought, I would never be like that but to live in a city like NYC, we have to "play the game" in order to survive, otherwise, people will step on you without any remorse. I keep my "new york attitude" in NYC, when I travel out of here, I leave that attitude their in my home (NY), but it is impossible we find ourselves with some bad attitude, it scapes our control once in a while. I am lucky, because I wasn't raise there and I have lived in different places during my life, so I can adapt myself easier to a new place.
I don't think Madonna is less Madonna because she lost her American accent. She has still recorded her records, running her tours and being this incredible artist that she has always been. She is perfectionist, her career has only grown as is she. Everyone knows the american english is very incorrect when compared to english spoke in others country. The british english are the best english in the world. I don't see any problem of her using this opportunity, to improve her english. Why do something good if you can do great ? Just because you weren't born great ? If life gives an opportunity of become better, I don't see any problem of improving. Isn't because a person was born poor, that it has die poor, amd isn't because someone was bron rich, it has to die rich too. Only the person knows what is better for themselves, no one else knows this better than our feelings.

She is really sickening! She will do just about anything for publicity! She need to close her mouth already because she trying too hard to be something she is not. Isn't this the same person that years ago sported a shirt that said "Italians do it better" and now she's British? She is such a joke!

Madonna has been in the public eye for about 25 years!! If she wants to adapt to her home by using an "Accent" who cares, I'm just glad that she didn't move to Georgia or Kentucky. Can you IMAGINE her with as a "southern belle"?!
