Ok so I have been working at this place (retail) for about 6 months and I feel myself getting more and more depressed the longer I work there. Most of the people I work with make me miserable.
Now, I know you guys are going to say to give my two weeks notice but I honestly feel like I can't even work there 2 more weeks. I just want to get out of there. I have been so stressed for months now, and I know it's MOSTLY because of this place.
I know it doesn't look good to just quit, but I really am passed the point that I even care.
And I am very bad at confronting people, especially THEM.
So what do you think would be the best/easiest way for me to just leave? Should I wait until the end of my shift and just tell them I quit? Or what?

This place is seriously starting to make me break down after work or before. Even on days I have off.

I know how hard it is to quit a job, even one that is making you sick literally; but you will feel so much better once you do. Your loyalty may be your strong quality; but you are not obligated to anyone, thing or place that would destroy your health. You've made the decision to quit; just do it. I do not think you should work one day longer at this place than you need to. In fact, you are allowed to call them up the morning of your shift and just tell them that it did not work out for you and unfortunately the job has caused you so much stress that you will not be able to return and that they are to accept your call as your resignation. You'll be able to take a deep breath and get on with your life when you hang up. Good luck.

I hope that sharing your situation here has brought you at least a little relief and a sense of not being alone.
You know what your choices are, really.
You can QUIT any time you choose, and you don't even have to wait the end of your shift. You just have to be prepared for the consequences.
No, it won't look good on your resume.
No, if you quit without reason and can't find another job really soon, you won't get unemployment.
----
Now, take a look at what you said: "Most of the people I work with make me miserable". See, I don't buy that. You might be FURIOUS with me for writing this, but I can't tell you anything but the truth: nobody has the power to make you miserable except you.
It may help to sit by yourself, re-play some of what your co-workers have said or done, and get right into exactly HOW this causes you to feel miserable.
Then you may find that some of your vulnerabilities are up to YOU, not them.
Of course, you can just up and quit, and really, there are no fences facing.
But, you may find the same situations in the next job.
Take a deep breath - I mean it. Breathe deep. Calm down. Let the stress flow off for even just a few minutes.
Then make the decision YOU think is best; NOT under stress, but from a center of 'being OK'.
My thoughts are with you.

Hi
I have been in the same situation. I tried looking for work while I was working and I got nothing. I dont know what the law is where you live, but if you are a casual and I think you can just resign. Believe me it is not worth staying on, your mental, emotional and physical health is at risk. Write a letter of resignation and give it to your boss. If they want to make any trouble about it, seek legal advice. But I am sure if you resign in a friendly and mannered way they wont do anything.
I hope everything goes well and that you get a job where people are better. What doesnt kills you makes you stronger!!!
All the BEST!!!!

OK, I'm presuming you dont need a reference from this job,to get another, so you dont care if they like you or not? How about a nice poem, like " I hate my work, I hate my pay; I cannot stay, not one more day!" put this into a funny card, hand it to them, and go home. Good luck.

I agree with ShiningStar and make sure you dont need the job as a reference.
Is it Walmart by any chance?

at the very least - give them 7 days
NO! do NOT just leave - you need the reference when they call your former employer
best of luck - you can do it!
