What do you call Rugby and Football ?
There is Union, League, Aussie Rules and Soccer. Generally the games have differences in strategies and the way the games are played are not that akin to each other. Aussie Rules and Soccer generally are ongoing with play and don't have the stoppages you see in the other two codes. Union has many line outs, scrums etc and while backs play an important role is often played in the forwards. League also requires good reflexes and thinking, reading of the game and good passing and defensive skills. They all require excellent levels of fitness though.

Cricket and baseball, to me the similarities end with the bat. The way the ball is delivered is different, field placement is different. Captains of cricket sides have opportunities to place their fielders where the deem effective and change that to suit the game as it progresses and the ability to do that is crucial to outcomes of games. So I guess I have to say no, to me they are not all that alike.
