Just wondering how reliable, affordable and efficient the conversion kit places are t hat can make any car into an electric car. I want to have my 00 Buick converted once the engine goes, has anyone done this or have any tips, advice or otherwise useful info on the topic? Any reputable places that professional convert cars and estimated prices to do so..?

I drive an EV conversion, and I love it. You should be aware, however, that a car with automatic transmission is a poor candidate for conversion. The electric motor doesn't need the transmission, so it will just waste energy. Below is a page with links to electric converter businesses.
