Why are we so willing to help other country's but we cant help our own?

not saying it wrong but as american we want to help every one else but we cant figure out the problem here. so how are we going to help others if we dont got our stuff on track

I have the same question...I asked before and was told that:
1. people in the US think there is so much more opportunity here that they do not feel as sorry for the people here who can't make it or have it rough.
2. depending on the media and hype and the "now" charity...that is where the US people will focus on helping.

i dont know, i guess we need to help other coz we need in return,if ever we need help they could help us too.
