VCU busted my bracket all up. I hadn't seen them play this season until watching them play Duke. If you watched that game, those kids brought so much energy, heart, and effort against Duke, I'm finding myself wanting to cheer for them to go far(though not likely), in this years tourney. Anyone else got this new found respect for them?

They won 27 games and a very tough conference coming in. The Colonial Atheltic Association has always been in the shadow of the ACC, and I think that game VCU extra incentive for that game. Plus, when you're in the CAA, every game means something because you can never trust getting an at-large bid, yet a Duke had the luxury of losing four in a row at the end of the year and still getting in.

Really now, Duke was just not that good. VCU beating Duke doesn't mean a whole lot. If they beat Pitt it will mean more, but even then.... George Mason was an extremely rare and unusual happening. The double digit seed cinderella, 9 years out of 10, will win a couple games then bow out in the sweet 16. If VCU can get past Pitt they'll almost certainly lose to UCLA. And I don't have a new found respect for them. I picked them to beat Duke, so my respect level is the same as it was before.

I had the benefit of watching Duke lose a couple games during the year that they would have won another year, so I picked them to lose this time. I think VCU is a good team, but they face Pitt next, and Pitt got a wakeup call in their first game, I expect them to come out smoking.

Duke was just an average team this year that didnt deserve a 6 seed. Any other team in the nation that finished .500 in conference, played 17 of their first 18 games at home, and lost 7 out of their last 11, and got bounced in the 1rst round of their conference tourney would have not gotten such a high seed. Think about it, they finished around 7th place in the ACC but still got a 6 seed. Thats reddickulous. Glad they lost.
I think everyone outside of Pennsylvania will be rooting for the underdog on Saturday.

I picked them over Duke. Anthony Grant's first year...got that program to the tourney. He's a former assistant for Billy D -- on last year's champ team.
Class act, great guy, hard worker. Figured it would go down to his players -- very engaging. We were sorry to see him go but so happy for him at the same time.

it shouldn't be newfound
anyone who followed college closely had VCU because they are and were the better team than Duke this year. No surprise that they won
