When is the dead line to get finger printed? When do I have to purchase my bond?

Check yourstate statutes relating to notaries. Like the other Wyoming notary above mentioned, Wyoming does not require fingerprinting, but does require bonding.

It is my impression that Wyoming is somewhat behind other states on requirements for notaries. For example, our "exam" is a page from the centre of a book you pick up at the Secretary of State's office. On the last page of the book are the answers. You fill in the "exam" by yourself whenever you please, return it, and pay your $30 fee. Then you have 60 days to get a $500 bond (it cost me $100 for this bond). You then take the proof of bond to the county court clerk to have the oath administered. At that point they give you the certificate and you may begin notarising.

Where do you live? In our state the Secretary of State handles those questions, start with your states office. In Wyoming we do not have to be fingerprinted, but our bond is purchased before our certificate is issued. We have to provide proof of the bond when we file our final paperwork.
