Psychologists earn more than clinical social workers but the only job a person with just a master's degree qualifies for is an industrial-organizationalist psychologist.

The following is exercepted from the latest edition of the Occupational Outlook Handbook, which is published by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Median annual earnings of wage and salary industrial-organizational psychologists in May 2004 (the latest figures available) were $71,400. The middle 50 percent earned between $56,880 and $93,210. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $45,620, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $125,560.

Median annual earnings of mental health and substance abuse social workers (also known as clinical social workers) were $33,920 in May 2004. The middle 50 percent earned between $26,730 and $43,430. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $21,590, and the top 10 percent earned more than $54,180.

I was not aware that a person can become a psychologist with just a Masters degree. You need a PhD (or PsyD) in psychology to officially have the title psychologist.
