you dont have to "freak dance or whatever" and you actually dont have to dance at all. youre not required to dance anything other than the formal dances. my sister was in a quinceanera once and hated dancing, she never did anything other than the choreographed movement. just find some people to have a fun conversation with, dance a few slow dances, and no one will even notice.

actually 'freak dance' isn't really appropriate at a quinceñera but then again it just depends on the parents and the girl. Is it that you CAN'T dance or you don't like to dance? If you can't dance, i would suggest learning merengue at least because it's the easist to learn. Then move on to bachata (it's a form of merengue just more romantic), and if you feel ready try your hand at cumbia. If you master cumbia then you'll be okay at salsa since most people interchange the two anyway. If I knew you I could teach you, but since i don't you should find someone older to teach you. It's easy you can do it, plus you'll get in really well with the chicas at the ball. Suerte!

BTW, you don't HAVE to dance but if you want to leave with a few #'s I suggest that you at least try. Us ladies love to dance!
