You will have to contact the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Limited's office at the ISBT in Delhi or thier office in Rishikesh to get more details; there are buses available almost every hour in the early hours from rishikesh; they generally avoid travelling in the night and therefore do not ply buses starting from Rishikesh after 4 pm; if they do, they will go part of the way and halt for the night at some place.

btw, considering the terrain, the travel time in best of the vehicles is much longer than the 5 hours suggested by one of the earlier posters. I have done these trips four times so far, on each occasion, i have had to stop enroute in one location. Even if you do non-stop, i would imagine the trip to be not less than 8 to 10 hours in very moutainous, circuitous routes. The scenary is however worth enjoying all the way.

During the seasons, you also get helicopter service now.
