So this guy and I broke up, whom I was totally in love with. Now, he is dating this girl that is friends with my roommate. Well, I do like her and everything and have no resentment towards her. However, whenever she is around me she talks about him, tells me their 'initmate' events, and even asks me for advice and asks what he used to do with me.

Now......she wants to move in with me next year.... for the above reason and for the reason I know she is really loud, I don't want her to, how can I let her down easily?

Just be honest, tell her "I really like you but I'm not sure we've got compatible lifetyles, I think our friendship would be stronger if we didn't live together"

Or tell her you make it a policy not to live with close friends, bc it often ruins friendships.

Or you could be straightforward and let her know that you wouldn't feel comfortable sharing an apartment with her while her and your ex were being intimate, or want to see their relationship in such close quarters as it could be awkward.

Good luck, and navigating roomate and living situations is soooo tricky!!

Tell her to please stop asking personal questions and sharing what's going on in their relationship. Secondly, say something like this: "This has nothing to do with you and I think you're cool, but I'd just like to take advantage of the opportunity to live alone for a while, see what it's like...If I ever need a roommate, though, I'll keep you in mind." Hope this helps :o)

Shes being totally insensitive. Tell her you already promised to move in with (someone youre about to make living arrangements with) and that you cant but wish you could. Lie.
