I think the majority of people in the U.S. are white. There are a lot more Blacks then Latinos on T.V. though. There are many Latinoand Asian news reporters, I always wondered why this was.Anyone have any theories? There are many Blacks in Comedic shows. Latinos have their own Spanish channels, "Univision", is the third biggest network, this may explain why there are not many Latino shows. Latinos are watching shows on Spanish channels. What I have NEVER seen is an Asian show on T.V. and I think there should be one.

I think that it is opposite, but why do we care? People are people, and what is the big hang up on the skin color? My next question is if the majority of America is Black and Latino people , why do you people demand minority rights? You guys should be giving the white people the minority rights, and we should be the ones that should be worried about being discriminated against. We should have special privileges because we are the minority. Isn't that the way that it always worked before when you were the minority? By the way how did there get to be so many of you guys if you were the minority? I know the average white family is two children, how many children do the Blacks and Latinos have? It must be a lot more than two if you guys are now the majority. But back to your concern about the TV. I think that it is the other way around, but we need to put this color of the skin thing away cuz when you ask a question like this it makes you sound racist against whites. That is politically incorrect you know.

It is too bad all the black shows have been crap since the Cosby show in the mid 80's, and lets face it the only reason people watch the Spanish channel is for the women. Evidently I see all black shows on TV all the time, tried watching a couple of them and they sucked, that's what the remote control is for. You don't here anyone else complaining whites are under represented in the NBA, get over it.

I think that Whites are still a majority by themselves - There are more Whites than Blacks and more Whites than Hispanics...And the consumers seem to want shows with a majority White-cast, though this is changing.

There are entire networks devoted to Black Entertainment Televison and Hispanic entertainment (Telemundo, Univision) as well...

The market is driven by what people want to see - The shows will reflect that. You'll note that things go in waves. For a while there were a LOT of mainstream black TV shows (Cosby, Fresh Prince, etc.), and they go in cycles.

i think ya to a level. yet we are maximum folk and maximum channels are white. i think you're attempting to make a factor inspite of the indisputable fact that concerning to the double standards. I stay in a Bolivian kin and he watches wager (roommate) and we've Mexicans, and used to have a black roommate. We referred to as our abode the United countries. i used to be heavily into black way of life yet i think of maximum of it fairly is trash now. Rims and Timbs, bling bling. i'm 26 now and picture it fairly is a comedian tale. in fact, i think the recession grow to be brought about by employing rap and the surplus or domination and taking what you pick. So 2000's - yet I have been given swept up in it. television shows would desire to mirror fact, multi way of life crews. the undertaking with wager is it excludes whites by employing making racist jokes, or scripts like "we are 4 youthful black adult males .. . ." i can not relate to that. surely, i think of MTV has performed the only right activity at portraying multi cultures. human beings would desire to end employing race as a crutch. Poverty is the real discrimination. Being ghetto or trailer trash won't get you everywhere. fact: Whites bought black slaves off of conquering black tribes in Africa because it grow to be much less high priced to enable them to do the grimy paintings (enslave that's own "adverse" human beings). Watch Apocolypto to be certain how latin indians taken care of their adverse (sacrificed) and then see how the white guy did a similar situation to them. Wait till extraterrestrial beings come coach us all a lesson.

dont know where you are at, but i don't have cable and my complaint is there are to many black shows period on some channels and the sad part is they only teach adultry, cheating, sluttyness and downgrading of women there are 2 channels that dominate as black. that UPN and the WB. now if there were more black shows that was respectfull to women and morals i woudn't have a problem with having more shows with more black people. its how they act and what they portray that bothers me. now the latino shows. i wouldn't have a problem with them either for the same reasons listed above, what i dont like is when people portray latino as dumb. they are not dumb, their not all rich or all drug dealers or gangs eithers , but are always portrayed that way. the biggest issue for me regarding latino is i am an american, i speak english and shouldn't have to learn spanish to suit them. i lived in germany and learned german becuase i lived in their country. same should go in the states i was born a english speaking american. i will not change my language to suit visiter from other countries.

the funny part about your commit is that is contradictes a saying that legal people say that we must conform to help the minority, which i grew up being told was the black and latino community. has that changed and whites are the minority. i feel it has changed to that but only in certain directions, but in reality i may look white, but i am a hienz 57 a woman of many nationalities in my bloodline. proud of every one of them. i haven't found black or latino yet in my search, but then i just found out 2 new ones in the last year and still tracking. as my mother once said. we may have black in us, hard to say, it wouldn't bother her one bit or me. we have wonderful black and latino friends. being a military brat can open many door to many cultures, each uniques and wonderful to learn, but learning can happen without changinging the way you live. its how you treat people that counts.
