Hi ! I am working on a school project about the movie "sound of music" I am trying to find some good resolution picture of the opening scen where maria ran and sing " the hills are a live..." so I am trying to find the name of the mountain in the background. Also anyone who knows where can I download a nice quality picture of that mountain, even better the green grass field with the mountain in the back just like the movie? I tried to go to austria website, but the picture is very small and they did'nt mention the name of the mountain. please help!

The scene was shot near Salzburg, Austria.. I can't find the name of the mountain, but it's on the Austrian - Italian border.

Alan T, the mountain where Maria sang the opening song of "The Sound Of Music" is Mellweg, near the Bavarian village of Schellenberg, about six miles from Salzburg. The first link below provides that info.
Sorry, though, that I can't seem to find a large picture of that mountain. If you type Mellweg in Yahoo Image, the search will give you a pic of the place where Julie Andrews sang "The Hills Are Alive." But this picture is blurry and also small. Maybe you can try the second link and see if you like the pics there. These are from Liechtenstein and a bit bigger. Hope this helps.
