Yes, it is perfectly fine...but:

Be certain you have a good face lotion or "cream". If you are putting it on during the day, make sure it has a decent level of SPF in it. Sun can do so much damage without our knowing it until its too late. Also, if you're prone to acne, use a face lotion that helps to stop acne, not start it. Many dermatologists have samples at the counter (If you happen to see one...or have a friend that does).

A good, light in weight, with a high SPF feels the best for day usage. A small pea sized amount should be enough to cover most all of your face, but don't forget your neck too.

At night, a heavier cream will give you the added moisture, making your skin softer. A heavier cream will also stay on better (your face rubbing on the pillow, against the sheets/blankets etc).

An astringent is supposed to close pores, so you shouldn't have to worry about pimples from a face lotion. Be certain that the astrigent doesn't have more alcohol than anything in it. Alcohol dries out the face and causes the need for lotions higher.

Good luck with this, I hope it helps.

Put astringent on first, then face lotion, otherwise the astringent will wipe off all the lotion.

Should be ok since astringent closes pores like cool water does.
